Fund Award: The Hispanic Scholarship Fund is a premier institution
that offers underprivileged Hispanic students the financial access to
higher education. With over $2.4 million in scholarship money
awarded to over 600 Hispanic students, the amount of the award depends
upon different factors, including financial need, tuition costs, living
expenses, and other costs. To qualify for this scholarship, there
are several requirements:
- Must be a US citizen
or legal permanent resident living in the United States or Puerto Rico - Maintain a minimum
3.0 unweighted cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale - Are planning to
enroll full-time as an undergraduate student in a college or university

- The Jack Kent
Cooke Scholarship Award: This $30,000 award through the Jack Kent
Foundation provides financial assistance to exceptional young individuals
who want to make a difference in the public sector.
Available for both undergraduate and graduate students, this scholarship
has the following
requirements for undergraduate students:
- Currently enrolled
in an accredited US community college or two-year institution with sophomore
status by December 31, 2007, or a recent graduate (after May 2003) - Will enroll in a
full-time undergraduate program at an accredited college or university
in fall 2008 - Maintain a minimum
cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale - Receive nomination
from his or her two year institution - Never have received
previous nomination for a Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer

For the graduate school student, the scholarship has the following criteria:
- Currently a senior
in college or a recent graduate (after May 2003) of an accredited US
college or university - Obtain a bachelor’s
degree by the start of the fall 2008 semester - Maintain a minimum
cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.50 out of a 4.0 scale - Receive nomination
from his or her undergraduate institution - Never previously
received nomination for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation graduate scholarship - Begin a full-time
graduate program at an accredited US university in fall 2008. The candidate

- Jackie Robinson
Foundation Scholarship Award: This $7,200 annual award through the
Jackie Robinson foundation assists financially needy minority students
who demonstrate great potential for achievement. To qualify for
this scholarship, the requirements are: - A high school student

Scholarship Award: This scholarship provides African-American students
with the financial aid needed to obtain a college education and make
a difference in society. The scholarship is $10,000 annually for
the four years of college, and the requirements are: - Academic excellence

with community service organizations - US Citizen or legal,
permanent resident - Must currently be

- Sam Walton Community
Scholarship Award: The Wal-Mart Corporation offers several different
scholarships for college students. The Sam Walton Community Scholarship
Award provides students with $1,000 annually towards the financial needs
of college. The requirements for the scholarship are: - Not currently a
Wal-Mart employee or associated relative - Currently a high
school senior OR have a GED equivalency - US citizen or a

ACT - Demonstrates financial
